The KGA Coaching Team

Stephanie Potter,
Owner/Head Coach

She may look young -- but this 26 year old wife and mother is not only the owner of the new Klamath Gymnastics -- she has been coaching for 8 years and she was a student who began her athletic education at the tender age of 4 on the mats of Klamath Gymnastic Academy under the tutillage of Scott Cullen-- and continued her training here for 10 years. She won the Lorraine Hall Memorial Vault Award in 1994, the first to win the award, at the Judges Open -- her favorite event. In 1995 & 1996 two of her teammates won the same award!

She took ballet at the age of 7 and was a cheerleader and in Track for 4 years at Mazama High School, lettering all four years, then went on to cheer for OIT.

Stephanie has lived in Klamath Falls for 24 years, a graduate of Mazama High School and holds an Associates Degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from OIT, making the Dean's List.

At home she has two dogs, a buff cocker named Jacob and a black lab named Grace. She loves dance, movies and quiet evenings with her husband and children Melanie and John.

Scott Cullen,
Founder KGA/Team Coach

Scott founded the Klamath Gymnastic Academy in 1984 and was responsible for the success of many of KGA's competitors, including KGA's new owner, Stephanie Potter.

A talented gymnast himself, Scott was a member of the KUHS Men's Gymnastics Team for 4 years and attended OIT. He went to work at Klamath School of Gymnastics in 1982, purchasing it in 1984 and changed the name to Klamath Gymnastic Academy.

Scott has been coaching at KGA for 25 years and has taught many students over the years and has built the reputation of Klamath Gymnastics as a place where talent is nurtured and athletes are trained to their greatest potential.

Scott decided this year to semi-retire and spend more time with his wife Debbie, and stepdaughters Nicole, Kirstie and daughter Ciarra. He enjoys coaching and will continue to teach classes here at KGA and coach the team. In his spare time, Scott enjoys sailboating and plans to do a lot more of it.
