Stephanie Potter,

She began her athletic education at the tender age of 3 on the mats of Klamath Gymnastic Academy under the tutelage of Founder Scott Cullen-- and continued her training here for 11 years.  A talented athlete and gymnast, She was the first to win the Lorraine Hall Memorial Vault Award at the Judges Open in 1994.  (Vault was her favorite event)  In 1995 & 1996 two of her teammates won the same award!  Stephanie made it to Regionals as a level 7 optional gymnast before deciding to retire from gymnastics competition to pursue other interests.

Growing up in Klamath Falls, Stephanie participated in many sports and activities such as Softball, Ballet and Music.  She lettered in track and Cheered for Mazama High School and Oregon Institute of Technology.  She holds an Associates of Arts and Sciences in Applied Psychology from Brigham Young University as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Psychology from OIT.

At home she is a wife and mother of two children Melanie and Johnny.  She loves spending time with her family.  They love camping, swimming and quiet evenings at home.

Stephanie has coached for ten years and has been the head coach at Klamath Gymnastics for 3 1/2 of those years.  When anyone remarks about Steph's coaching talent, she always responds "Scott has taught me everything I know".  Stephanie is Safety Certified by USA Gymnastics, Preschool Gymnastics Certified and is a USAG professional member.  She teaches from Preschool to Competitive Team and everything in between. Steph believes that what they teach goes far beyond teaching someone to do a cartwheel.   See our mission statement for more information about Steph's direction for Klamath Gymnastics.

Scott Cullen,
Founder KGA/Instructor

Scott founded the Klamath Gymnastic Academy in 1984 and was responsible for the success of many of KGA's competitors, including KGA's new owner, Stephanie Potter.

A talented gymnast himself, Scott was a member of the KUHS Men's Gymnastics Team for 4 years and attended OIT. He went to work at Klamath School of Gymnastics in 1982, purchasing it in 1984 and changed the name to Klamath Gymnastic Academy.

Scott has been coaching at KGA for 28 years and has taught many students over the years and has built the reputation of Klamath Gymnastics as a place where talent is nurtured and athletes are trained to their greatest potential.

Scott decided in 2007 to semi-retire from Gymnastics and spend more time with his wife Debbie, and stepdaughters Nicole, Kirstie and daughter Ciarra.  Scott enjoys sail boating and plans to do a lot more of it.

Scott enjoys coaching Gymnastics also, so we feel very fortunate to have him on board teaching classes and some private lessons here at KGA in his spare time.
