Mary Hernandez,
Kindergym 2 Coach

Mary discovered gymnastics at the Parks & Recreation in Newberg OR. When Newberg gymnastics opened after she turned 13, she began attending classes and before long, she'd made the team and was competing.

A natural athlete, Mary spent her high school years doing cheerleading, track & volleyball. She also taught beginning tumbling in her senior year, launching her teaching career in gymnastics. She graduated Newberg High School in '92

Mary has lived in Klamath Falls for the last 7 yrs and just started at KGA this June. She has been married to her husband Michael for the last 13 years and has two beautiful daughters.

 

John Nelson
Boys' Gym & Tumbling Coach

"Gymnastics exercises the whole body and gives excellent spatial awareness. It's helpful for almost all other sports and most performing arts."

John got his start in gymnastics at the age of 12 in California and spent his teens perfecting his craft, making it to regionals as a class five. A talented athlete and gymnast, he has coached for over 5 years, three of which have been here in Klamath Falls.

He currently teaches Boys' Gym at KGA. Also a scholar, John attends OIT and majors in Mechanical Engineering. In his spare time, he's in an acrobatics team called TeamFast.
